It is key to us that community members from around the globe are able to participate in this important convening on sexual health and human rights! That's why we've compiled this set of simplified guidelines.
Here's the 101 of how to get involved in this year's HIV2020 conference:
What is HIV2020?
HIV2020 is a community-led conference, organized by key populations and people affected by HIV.
When: 5th-7th July 2020 Where: Mexico City, Mexico
HIV2020 will be held at the same time as the International AIDS Conference (AIDS2020) in the United States.
Why is HIV2020 important?
We are organizing this community-led event to provide a safe alternative for people who cannot or will not enter the USA in 2020, and for people who cannot afford to attend AIDS2020. The core organizers of HIV2020 are global key population networks including GNP+, INPUD, MPact, and NSWP.
About the conference
Day 1: Global key population networks of people living with HIV, sex workers, people who use drugs, gay and bisexual men, and transgender people will hold global convenings of their respective communities to discuss issues related to the global HIV response within their communities.
Day 2: A series of full and half-day community-led sessions focused on the theme of ‘intersectionality’.
Day 3: Plenary sessions and panel discussions bringing together the previous days discussions, with the goal of bringing forward key messages to define the next steps for a community-led global HIV response.
